KAZOO PRODUCTIONS is a local media production company located in the Edmonton, Alberta region. We provide professional photography, videography, music production and consultation services for marketing media and events.
Background
Founded by Michelle and Eric Kaplan, a creative couple, our shared passions for photography, video, music, and pets led us to create the perfect business name. Combining our last name with an animal-inspired theme, 'Kazoo' (Kaplan - Zoo) Productions was born. What started as a simple hobby has blossomed into a wonderfully fulfilling endeavor.

We approach our work with the goal of capturing the essence of each person, business, or product we photograph or film, showcasing their individuality and authenticity. We believe that every subject has a unique story, and it's our passion to tell that story in a way that deeply resonates. Without the incredible people, businesses, and moments we document, Kazoo Productions wouldn't exist. That’s why we pour our hearts into each project, striving to make a genuine connection with our subjects so we can portray their experiences with honesty, warmth, and creativity. Philosophy
When it comes to capturing performance art and dance, we like to say we take the 'Fred Astaire' approach. In his contracts, Fred Astaire famously insisted that all filming include the dancer's entire body and movements, without zooming or cutting. By following this principle, we aim to honor the integrity of the dance, capturing it in its entirety as it was created. This approach ensures that the artistic direction remains with the dancer, where it truly belongs, rather than being altered by the videographer or editor. It’s our way of respecting the artistry and allowing the movement to speak for itself, preserving the magic of the performance.
